AEW Planning Protection Against WWE Signings: WWE and AEW are the two biggest wrestling promotions of the present time. Many big stars who have worked in WWE are currently a part of AEW. On the other hand, select wrestlers who have appeared in Tony Khan's promotion are still in WWE. Recently, Stephanie McMahon signed a contract with WWE after working in AEW and NJPW shows. A big rule is expected to be brought to prevent this from happening in the future.
Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp has made a big revelation in his report. He told that AEW and NJPW can take a big step in the coming time. Both the promotions are trying to come up with a master plan so that no superstar signs directly with WWE after working in these two promotions. He also mentioned the situation of Stephanie Walker joining WWE. He said, "Fightful Select's sources present in AEW and NJPW told that they are expecting protection if they do not step directly into WWE after the shows of All Elite Wrestling or New Japan Pro Wrestling. This thing has happened after Stephanie Walker was signed."
AEW was not happy with Stephanie Waker when she signed a contract with WWE
Stephanie Waker worked for a long time in CMLL and then she debuted in Tony Khan's promotion to participate in the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 event. She faced Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door on June 30, 2024. The match was for the AEW TBS Championship and NJPW Strong Women's Title.
Stephanie Waker was defeated by Mone and became a double champion. Despite the defeat, Stephanie impressed WWE officials. After this, on July 10, Shawn Michaels announced that Waker had signed a contract with WWE. AEW was not happy that after working on their show, Waker signed a contract with the rival company. She has also made her WWE debut.
